Rapid Transfers 101
Rapid Transfers lets you move money quickly between your Union Bank accounts and accounts you hold at other financial institutions. Because this feature uses secure card technology instead of traditional ACH transfers, your funds are typically available within minutes—not the next business day.
It’s one more way Union Bank gives you big‑bank convenience, with community‑bank care.
Getting started is simple. You’ll need:
- A Union Bank checking or savings account, and
- An external bank account with a debit card
For security purposes, the name on your external debit card must match the name on your Union Bank account.
Yes. A small fee is charged by the trusted third‑party provider that powers the Rapid Transfers service:
- Push to Card (sending funds to another financial institution):
1.75% with a $0.50 minimum fee - Pull from Card (bringing funds into your Union Bank account):
0.75, with a $0.50 minimum fee
Yes. Rapid Transfers is available for both personal and business customers.
Can I send money to another person using Rapid Transfers?
Rapid Transfers is a “me‑to‑me” transfer feature. Funds can only be moved between accounts that are under the same name.
Is Rapid Transfers secure?
Yes. Rapid Transfers is designed with multiple security safeguards:
- Account name verification
- CVV code requirement during enrollment
- Two‑factor authentication
If the name on your Union Bank account doesn’t match the name on the external debit card, enrollment won’t be allowed—helping protect your money every step of the way.
Is there a waiting period for transferred funds?
Can I use Rapid Transfers to make a loan payment?
At this time, funds cannot be pulled directly from an external debit card to pay a Union Bank loan. Transfers can be pushed or pulled into a Union Bank checking or savings account, which can then be used to make your loan payment.
Standard Transfers 101
Do I need to set this up?
No. Standard Transfers are already built into Union Bank’s digital banking platform, with no extra setup required.
Is there a fee?
No. Standard Transfers are free to use.
What accounts can I use with Standard Transfers?
